Yolanda Flores Filerio, 56, of Bloomfield, New Mexico, was granted her angel wings on Friday, January 9, 2015. Yolanda was born on March 23, 1958, in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Juan and Josefina Flores. Yolanda's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She enjoyed serving the elderly and making them smile as a healthcare worker at Bloomfield Nursing Home. She was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ and was an active member in the Catholic Community at both Churches of St. Mary's in Bloomfield and in Farmington. Her treasure in this life was her three kids and their families: Yolanda Flores and Inaki Gasteluiturri and their children Sophia and Jose; Victor and Monserrat Filerio and their children Bryan and Aryanna; and Joseph Filerio.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, brother, Juan Flores, and sister, Rita Duran. She is survived by her sisters: Petra Martinez, Maria Rios, Manuela Flores; Francisca Garcia, Gloria Cadena, and by brothers, Felipe, Valentin, Tomas, Candelario, Cesario and Ramon Flores. Rosary for Yolanda will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 307 North Church St. in Bloomfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father Robert Mathieu and Co-Celebrant Father Benjamin Cadena. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery.
