William J. Roland
March 24, 1940 - Jan. 5, 2017
William Jack Roland, of Farmington, passed away peacefully in his home in New Mexico Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at 76 years young after battling cancer. He was with his wife, Diann and dear friend Mazie when he passed. He was born March 24, 1940.
Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and has a great grand-baby on the way. His sense of humor was something you could always rely on to put a smile on your face. He was incredibly handy and quite the do it yourselfer and took such pride in his work and yard that it even caught the attention of his neighbors. He had a love for bowling that allowed him to make several great friends. Jack was a man that was full of mischief and surprises and the stories of his younger years are something you wouldn't believe. He also fostered several cats and eventually adopted them as his own, teaching them tricks and giving them all of love and attention they needed. Jack was an incredibly intelligent person with a wealth of knowledge both helpful and useless yet very interesting.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Jewel; father, George; son, Jeffrey Shane; grandson, James; grandparents and two brothers, Ron Roland and Larry Brown. He leaves behind his wife, Diann; his daughters by heart, Erica and husband Jeff and their three children from New Mexico, Mindy and husband Darin and their three children from Wyo., Jayme and husband Joe and their four children of Nevada, and Lexie and her six children of New Mexico; his brothers, Richard and wife Doris and their two children from Idaho, Gary and his wife from Montana and Roy from Texas; and many dear friends.
Jack will be missed dearly, loved endlessly and never forgotten.
No services will be held and Jack's body was donated to the University of New Mexico for anatomical donation per his request.
Jack's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688. Those who wish to express their condolences may do so at serenityandcompany.com.
