William (Willie) Alfred DeHerrera, 83, died June 6, 2021 at San Juan Regional Hospital of Farmington, NM. He was born August 8, 1938 in Cuba, NM, the son of Jacobo and Juanita (Gurule) DeHerrera.
Willie graduated from Cuba High School. Class of 1956,. Following graduation he attended barber school and began his career in Farmington, NM. Willie opened his own barber shop under Sebring Hair International and controlled the franchises in 4 states for many years. Later, he started his own product line and reinvented his shop under The Hair Machine where he was very successful until he retired from the business.
Willie was part of the Knights of Columbus in his earlier days and was also a devoted parishioner at the Bloomfield Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son' Damon, sisters; Emma, Anna and Elothia and brother; Lalo. He is survived by not only his wife Viola ( Gurule) DeHerrera, but also by his sons; Ted DeHerrera and his wife Elena of Las Vegas , NV and David DeHerrera of Bloomfield, Nm daughter; Melissa Mauser and her husband Joe of Corrales, NM granddaughters; Olivia Mauser of Rio Rancho, NM Ava Mauser of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Danielle Doyle of Albuquerque, NM great-granddaughter; Ariella Doyle of Albuquerque, Nm sister; Katie and husband Roy, three brothers; Phillip, Jake, Eldon and his wife Patsy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A mass will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00 Am at the Catholic Church in Cuba, New Mexico.
