Wayland Lester Mercer

Mr. Mercer was born on January 3, 1939 to Stephen Manley Mercer and Orilla May Mercer. Bud attended Fruita High School where he lettered in football and later graduated in 1958. He was enlisted in the United States Army from 1959-1961 when he wed Sadie Jean "Jeanna" Thomas.

Bud worked on drilling rigs from New Mexico to Montana for over 55 years until his retirement.

Bud is preceeded in death by his parents, loving wife of 57 years, 8 brothers and 5 sisters.

He is survived by his oldest son Dwayne Mercer of Farmington, NM, his youngest son Kenneth (Sherry) Mercer of South Carolina, 3 grandchildren; Amanda (Marcus) Mercer Wilson, Kenneth "Manley" (Meagan) Mercer and Courtney (Brandon) Mercer McCarty, 5 Great grandchildren; Makyna Wilson, Ryand Wilson, Dawson Mercer, Dallas Mercer, and Landon McCarty, brother; George (Mary Lou) Mercer and sister Ethel.Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

He was loved by his family and will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
