The Allcorn family was blessed to come together in June to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Harold and Wanda. The family will gather once more on Friday, November 9 to lay to rest Wanda Allcorn, beloved mother, wife, sister, grandma and great grandma.
Wanda Lee (Payne) Allcorn was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on October 5, 1934 to Jess Lee and Leona (Bryant) Payne. She met her true love, Harold Lynn "Lindy" Allcorn when they both attended high school in Santa Fe. They married on June 20th, 1952 in Odessa, Texas and went on to raise 5 children. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and eventually established a homebuilding business, Lind-Lee Construction. Harold built homes and Wanda used her natural talents to decorate them. Wanda was recruited by Carpet City in Tulsa to be their official builder's representative and decorator where she established a reputation as the best in her field.
In 1977, Harold and Wanda moved back to New Mexico with their sons and built homes and commercial buildings in Bloomfield and Farmington. Their last business venture was in Taos, where they established Silver and Sand Trading Company which dealt in fine Native American arts and crafts. In 1999 they retired and moved back to Farmington to be close to their family.
