Walter Grady BloodWorth

July 11, 1930 — October 17, 2014

Walter "Dub" Clifford Bloodworth, 84, of Bloomfield, passed away on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, in Bloomfield. He was born July 11, 1930, in Porterdale, Ga., to Grady and Sally Bloodworth.
Dub was born again in June of 1952. He and Mary Lou met at a church picnic and softball game in Albuquerque. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Albuquerque. Dub retired after 26 years from El Paso Natural Gas Company, to take care of his okra, tomatoes and corn. He enjoyed running in races, baking pecan pies and traveling back to Georgia every year to visit his family.
In addition to being a proud father of four, grandfather of four and a great-grandfather of three, Dub was known as "grandpa" to many softball players.
Two weeks ago he wrote, "When he fell asleep with cancer and arthritis, he was in pain. When he awoke he had no more cancer, arthritis or pain. He did not need a cane. He had a perfect body and he was with Jesus."
Dub was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond, Marion and Grady Jr.; and his sister Marilyn. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Bloodworth; sons, Craig (Carol) Bloodworth and Wayne Bloodworth; daughters, Lynette Bloodworth and Bonnie (Harry) Lovato; brother, the Rev. M.L. Bloodworth; his sister Idel; and his grandchildren, Melanie Lovato, Julie Lovato, Lauren Rossmeisl, Lisa Vest and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Isadora Guillen, James Vest and Samuel Vest.
A visitation will be at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, at Alternative Choice Chapel in Farmington. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. also in the chapel, officiated by the Rev. M.L. Bloodworth. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, in Cedar Hill.
A reception will be at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 211 W. 20th St. in Farmington.
Pallbearers are Craig Bloodworth, Wayne Bloodworth, Melanie Lovato, Lauren Rossmeisl, Lisa Vest and Julie Lovato. Dub's care is entrusted to Alternative Choice, 804 N.
