Tony Schmitz, 76, of Lindrith, passed away April 29, 2013 in Lindrith. He was born January 13, 1937 in Ojito, New Mexico to Antone and Ruhey Welch Schmitz.
Tony was a lifelong rancher in Ojito. He was a Deacon at the Lindrith Baptist Church. Tony was a visionary business man in the oilfield and ranching industry. He lived by honoring his word and lead by example. He'll be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Darlene, sons, Tony Lee Schmitz (Kimberlee) and Craig D. (Tisha) and a sister, Mary Mead (Jim) of Durango, CO. Also surviving are five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A family gathering with closed casket will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Lindrith Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Self officiating. Interment will be at Ojito Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony A. Schmitz, Stetson Schmitz, Steve Stevenson, Doyle Post, Dudley Welch and Wndelll Tixier. Honorary Pallbearers will be Windy Stevenson, Frank Welch, Jack Bechdol, Wade Schmitz, Harley Leeson, Cliff Price, Bill Humphries and Vicente Enriquez.
