Tommy Gene Valdez, 57, of Farmington, died on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013. He was born Aug. 27, 1955 in Tapacitos, New Mexico to Sofio Valdez Jr. and Roselia Valdez. Tommy attended Aztec Schools and worked for San Juan County as a custodian, for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with is two children and three grandchildren. They were his whole world. Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie L. Valdez; his parents, Sofio Valdez, Jr. and Roselia Valdez and grandparents, Sofio Valdez, Sr. and Adela Valdez and Jose Delfido Valdez and Octavinna Garcia. He is survived by his son, Fabian(Cassandra) Valdez; daughter, Melissa (L.T.) Valdez; brother, Joe Valdez and sisters, Peggy Chaves, Connie Ingram and Tina Leonard. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Ciara, Bianca and Elijah Valdez. Visitation for Tommy will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Pinon Hills Community
Church. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. with Pastor Gary Smith officiating Interment will follow in Rose Garden in Upper Fruitland. Pallbearers are Jacob Murphy, Stevan Garcia, Michael Chavez, Corey
Blackie, Lewis Blackie, Vern Blackie and Roman Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers are Leo Valdez, Dolores Garcia, Andy Garcia, Joe Valdez, Sandy Valdez, Patsy Symmonds, Peggy Chavez, Connie Ingram and Tina Leonard. Tommy's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
