Tobias Lionel Casaus

April 20, 1945 — April 12, 2016

Tobias "Toby" L. Casaus, 70, of Bloomfield, was called home on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 20, 1945, in Blanco, to Aniceto and Paulita (Garcia) Casaus.
Toby's family and friends were very important to him. He looked forward to each holiday or birthday as it usually meant a family gathering and a time to see his many nieces and nephews. He was proud of the awards and pins he earned for his work service throughout the years. Although he struggled with different medical conditions, he seldom complained. He will be dearly missed by all.
Toby was preceded in death by both of his parents; five brothers Repito Casaus, Louis Casaus, Ernest Casaus, Raynel Casaus and Lionel Casaus; and two sisters Ramoncita (Duby) Palacios and Virginia (Ginger) Amaro.
He is survived by his sisters Evangeline (Paul) Montano, Pauline Atencio, Annie Salazar, Rosita (J.J.) Brandt; two brothers Ramon (Barbara) Casaus and Joe E. Casaus; and his last surviving aunt, Cleo Norton.
Thank you High Desert, Excel, PMS Project Shield, doctors and staff and especially Gary Gallegos, his caretaker for many years who became a dear friend of Toby's. Thank you Rebekah French for sharing your nursing skills and knowledge in helping with your Uncle Toby's care. Thank you to all who took time to visit with him. It was such a comfort to the family.
A viewing will be held at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 12 noon, Saturday, April 16, 2016, immediately followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 12:30 p.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, in Blanco, celebrated by Reverend James E. Walker and assisted by Deacon Pat Valdez. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Farmington.
Pallbearers are Anthony Valdez, Christopher Valdez, Xavier Valdez, Daniel Martinez, Augustine Salazar and Michael Marquez. Honorary pallbearers are his many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly, Gary Gallegos, Ramon Casaus, Joe Casaus, J.J. Brandt, Pat Valdez, Robert Martinez, Gilbert Montoya and Michael Atencio.
Toby's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute Street, Farmington, (505) 325-8688.
