On Friday May 6th, Tom B. Grant Jr. (93) died peacefully after living with Alzheimers for thirteen years. He was born and raised in Ada Oklahoma. He served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. Tom graduated from Oklahoma University in 1950 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and continued to follow OU football. Tom moved to Farmington New Mexico in 1952 and worked for El Paso Natural Gas Co for 33 years.
Tom enjoyed laughter and telling a good joke; he enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was a long time respected Sunday School Teacher as well as a deacon at First Baptist Church.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother and father and his grandson Matthew Grant. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Norma Grant, son Miles and wife Lisa Grant, son Myron and wife Linda Grant, and grandchildren Amanda Grant and Aaron Grant.
A memorial service will be held on Monday May 16th at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or the Gideon's International.
