Theresa Veronica (White) Nelson

Theresa 'Terry' Veronica "Bear Walks Close to Village" White-Nelson ,76 of Farmington NM left this world to meet her maker and her love of her life, Woodrow "Buddy" Nelson Jr. on Sunday, July 9, 2017 in Farmington, NM. Theresa was born November 10,1940 in Mission SD to Ethel Yellowrobe White and Narcisse White.
She graduated from Mercy Catholic High School in Chicago Illinois. After graduating high school, she attended college and became a medical laboratory tech. She worked in many labs across the nation before working in Shiprock NM with IHS. Terry, known by many of her co-workers, had great love and respect for the Navajo tribe who she said "she was a part of." She worked 48 years in this field which she had a tremendous amount of compassion for. Theresa was a phenomenal musician at a very young age and played mostly saxophone but could pickup any instrument and play. She had much faith and love for our heavenly father. Her hobbies throughout her life included bowling, basketball, running , tennis, volleyball, sewing and going to the casino. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and respected her. She is survived by her 5 children; James (Rita) Spade, Stephen (Tammy) Spade Sr., Narcissa (Boyd) Warner, Kimberly (Warren Begay) Yellowrobe, Dawn (Ray) Fowler, her youngest brother who she loves dearly, Stephen J White, and very special grandsons, Christopher Wise and James Spade Jr, granddaughters Theresa Panigua, Christina Herrera, Mary Billison and other numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. She fostered and adopted many children throughout her life. She opened her home to anyone in need and helped many people throughout her life. She will always be remembered as a kind,generous and loving soul. Theresa was preceded in death by her mother Ethel Yellowrobe, brother Kenneth White and her husband and soulmate Woodrow "Buddy" Nelson Jr. Honorary pallbearers; Boyd Warner, Ray Fowler, Christopher Irwin, Warren Begay, Rita Spade, Tammy Spade, Stephen White Sr, Joshua White Sr. Cremation will take place and memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 15th at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, 414 N. Allen in Farmington NM with Father Jeffrey King as celebrant with a rosary starting at 9:30 am before the Mass. She will then be taken to Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main and interred with her husband. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
