Terry Kent Oliver was born on July 23, 1930 in Waco, TX to Florence and R.C. Oliver. He passed from this life peacefully after complications from pneumonia on July 15, 2016. Terry Kent was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Yvonne Jamieson, and his granddaughter Brittany Oliver. He is survived by his wife Joan Oliver; children Terri Lynn Oliver, Shaun (David) Oliver Bishop, Kent (Polly) Oliver, and Stewart (Merri) Oliver; his sister Mignonne Eliason, and his cousin Edna (Les) Neumann. He leaves three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three nephews, and two nieces.
Terry Kent proudly served his country in the Navy in the Korean War. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 35 years and retired in 1985. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and an avid reader. He belonged to the Farmington Shrine Club and the Elk Lodge. He and his wife Joan were married for 65 years and enjoyed many years of dining, dancing and socializing with their friends. Terry Kent was a man of principle and integrity that we could all aspire to.
A memorial service for Terry Kent will take place at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Alternative Choice Chapel, 804 N. Dustin, in Farmington.
