Teofilo C. Sanchez, 84 of Farmington, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 peacefully surrounded by all of his family. He was born December 23, 1929 in Los Chavez, NM to Macedonio Sanchez and Clara Castillo-Sanchez. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed by all. Teofilo's youth was spent on a small farm in Los Chavez. His father and family raised him at the age of 13 after his mother passed away. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles, CA. He met his wife, Maria in the small lumber town of McNary, AZ while working in the local lumber mill/power plant. He also served in the US Army during the Korean conflict and served as an MP at the Presidio in San Francisco, CA. His unit participated in the nuclear testing in Camp Desert Rock, Nevada. After his time of service he went back to work at Arizona Public Service Co., in McNary and then transferred to Yuma and finally to Farmington, NM and retired in 1989. Dad enjoyed woodworking, but most of all enjoyed being involved with his family and their activities. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Nicole Marquez, grandsons Toby Kirkpatrick and Brandon Ritchie as well as siblings, James, Ignacio, Euologio Sanchez, Clemmie Gonzales, Flora Peralta, Virginia Romero, and Nicolasa Roel. He is survived by his wife, Maria Elisa his six children, Kathryn (Richard), Nicholette (Stephen), Karol (Jim), Raymond (Dawn), Martin and Kenneth (Lisa); two brothers, Elfigo and Tobias; one sister, Lucia; 17 grandchildren, Sonya Longenbaugh (Billy), Candace Altenburg (Brandon), Michael Laughlin (Megan), Evie Marquez, Matthew Marquez, Josh Pobrislo (Suzanne), Jolene Meeker (Brian), Brandon Sanchez, Tyson Ritchie (Allison), Ashley Mohon (Brandon), Taylor Grant (Logan), Heighley Sanchez and Ryan Sustakaski, Heather, Kholeton, JoJo, Jessica, and James Sanchez;11 great grandchildren - Sinjin, Siena, Jackson, Nathan, Bradley, Ryan, Lyla, Joseph, Celeste, Andorra Ray, and Brayden. Services will include a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23th at Sacred Heart Church, and a Mass on Saturday, May 24th at 10:00 a.m. also at Sacred Heart Church.
