Teofilo Castillo
Teofilo "Tebby" Castillo passed away at his home in Grants on June 6, 2013, He was 63. He was born on October 29, 1949 to Luis Castillo Sr. and Christina Marez Castillo in Grants, New Mexico.
Mr. Castillo was a life resident of Grants. He previously worked for the Anaconda and Kerr-McGee Uranium mines. He was a Firefighter, serving the City of Grants for 27 years, retiring in 2008. He was a devoted spiritual member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church; He also was a 20 year volunteer with St. Vincent De Paul. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a generous, loving listener that you could lean on for support. His sense of humor enriched all that knew him. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. His hobbies include physical exercise, biking, walking, and cooking.
He is survived by his children; Tebby Castillo Jr. and wife Santana of Tijeras, Tommy Castillo and wife Laverne of Espanola, Cindy Apodaca and husband Miguel of Grants, Anthony Castillo and wife Dasie of Milan and Angela Lopez of Grants. Nineteen Grandchildren; Melody, Michael, Christina, Caesar, Dylan, Kaitlynn, Kelly, Seth, Brooklyn, Caleb, Destiny, Mariah, Samora, Antonio, Angelo, Devin, Dennis, Serenity, and Emilio. Two Great-Grandchildren; Alisia and Brianna. His brothers; Eloy Castillo, Luis Castillo Jr. and wife Stella. His sisters; Faye Fowler, Lucille Aragon and husband Fred, Connie Lopez and husband Julian. His sister-in-laws; Marie Castillo and Christina Castillo, along with numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Luis Sr. and Christina Castillo. His brothers; Benny Castillo, Phillip Castillo, and Harry Castillo and his sister; Gloria Boissoneau.
A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday June 11, 2013 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday June 12, 2013 at 10:00 am also at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park. Grants Fire and Rescue will serve as Honor Guard.
Pallbearers include; Devin Apodaca, Dennis Apodaca, Mikey Castillo, Caesar Castillo, Seth Castillo, Louie Castillo, Phillip Castillo, and Nicholas Aragon.
Honorary Pallbearers include; His Grandchildren and his Nephews and Nieces.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with Arrangements.
