Stephen "Greg" Erwin, 61, of Aztec, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, in Aztec. He was born Dec. 28, 1952, in Crosbyton, Texas, the son of G.L. "Bob" and Bette Flo Erwin.
Greg graduated from Farmington High School in 1972. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged. Greg was employed with Elmridge and took great pride in doing a good job. He enjoyed having barbecues with his friends. Greg loved hunting, fishing and camping in the mountains and telling stories. He was a history buff. Greg always was willing to help others with anything he could do. He will be greatly missed.
Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents W.E. "Ike" Erwin and wife Leona May Erwin and Joe Attebery and wife Nadine Attebery. He is survived by his wife Nikki Erwin; son Jason Erwin (Jami); daughters, Chelsea and Lacey; parents, G.L. "Bob" and Bette Flo Erwin; brothers, Gary Erwin (Linda) and Glenn Erwin (Lory); sisters, Ellen and Janie (Jerry) Bekken; seven grandchildren and many dear friends.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 2, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington, with Pastor Dave Evans officiating. Greg's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
