Stephanie Deree Anderson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and daughter, passed from this life to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015. She was born May 29, 1969, in Seattle, Wash., to Dennis Anderson and Hazel Seavy Anderson.
Popular and studious, she graduated from Bloomfield High School where she was active in track, choir, drama and the yearbook staff. She attended San Juan College and earned a diploma from the Gemological Institute of America. She married Steven Dotter and moved to Santa Fe, where her beloved son, Cameron Merritt Dotter, was born. Upon separation from Steve, she moved to Bloomfield where she met Michael Garcia. This relationship was blessed with two daughters, Caitlin Marie and Lakyn Michaela. While providing a home for her daughters, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had numerous hobbies.
Stephanie was a talented poet and artist. Intellectual and curious, she loved geology, anthropology and astronomy. She always saw the good in everyone. Her legacy will be her caring heart and unconditional love for others. Her memory will forever be in the hearts of all the people whose lives she touched.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ann Alice Seavy, LaVern E. Anderson and Shirley Smith Anderson. She is survived by her son, Cameron Merritt Dotter of Edmond, Okla.; daughters, Caitlin Marie Garcia-Anderson and Lakyn Michaela Garcia-Anderson, both of Bloomfield; parents, Hazel M. Seavy Anderson and Dennis D. Anderson; brothers, Trent D. Anderson of Bloomfield and Dane Anderson of La Plata, Mo.; and her grandchildren, Gabriel Marcel Estrada Garcia and Jerzi Monroe Casaus.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, 1105 N. First St. in Bloomfield, officiated by the Rev. Kathy Potter.
