Stanley Norman Campbell, 73, of Aztec, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 9, 2014. He was born Feb. 11, 1941, in Silver City, to Stanley and Nadine Campbell.
Stanley graduated from Aztec High School in 1959. He joined the U.S. Navy in August of 1959 and served in the U.S. Submarines until 1963. He attended Fort Lewis College. He married Valera Smith in 1959, and then married Carol Ann Lane in 1965. He worked for Southern Union Gas Company and Williams Field Services for a total of 49 years.
He was known for his love of hot rods, motorcycles, sand rails and spending time with family and friends. Stanley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Aztec. He loved the Lord with all of his heart. He would do anything for anybody.
He is survived by his daughter, Yvette Partlow and her husband Dana of Kokomo, Ind.; son Stanley Campbell Jr. and his wife America of Colorado Springs, Colo.; son Lt. Col. Steve Campbell and his wife Cori of Peyton, Colo.; and his daughter Shawna Reid and her husband Chris of Aztec; sister Carolyn Allen and husband David of Aztec; his sister Connie Ogden and husband Sam of Colleyville, Texas; his grandsons, Mitchell Reid, Derrick Campbell, Andrew and Alex Partlow and Nathen Campbell; his granddaughters, Tajshen and Larina Campbell, Molly, Bonnie and McKinzie Reid, Shannon Campbell, and Marisa Thrower; eight great-grandchildren; Along with numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He also left behind many close friends. Stanley will be missed greatly.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons Mitchell Reid, Derrick Campbell, Andrew Partlow, Alex Partlow and Nathan Campbell.
The family asks that all flowers or donations be sent to First Baptist Church of Aztec.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, at First Baptist Church of Aztec, 700 Navajo Ave. Dr. Kevin Parker will be officiating.
Stanley's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave., 505-334-9332.
