Shirley June Pate

Shirley Pate, 82, of Farmington, New Mexico passed away August 23, 2020. She was born June 8, 1938 to James Arlice Calhoun and Delphia Irene Calhoun in Mineral Wells, Texas.
Shirley graduated from Kaufman High School in Kaufman, Texas. She married Elbert Lee Roy Pate in Farmington, NM in December of 1956 and had 4 children. She was an active member with the VFW Auxiliary Post 2182 from 1981-2014 and VFW Auxiliary Post 614 2014 to present. She joined MOCA NM #17 in 1988 and transferred to MOCA NM #14 in April of 2009, she served as NM Grand President for MOCA from 2001-2002. She loved to hunt and fish with her husband Elbert Lee Roy Pate and was an avid Bingo player.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents James Arlice Calhoun and Delphia Irene Calhoun, husband Elbert Lee Roy Pate of 29 years and longtime companion David Beckman of 15 years, daughter Lynn Rupp, brothers Charles Calhoun, Calvin Calhoun, Carroll Calhoun, and grandson Tony Rupp.
She is survived by son Doug Pate (Abby Pate), daughters Barbara Toward (John Toward), Kim Brewer (Richard Brewer Jr.), and brother William Calhoun. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers are John Toward, Mark Pate, Theron Saville, Bubba Brewer, Jeremy Cook, Joshua Pate and Ron Brewer
Visitation will be Thursday August 27, 2020 from 9:30 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. at Brewer Lee and Larkin. There will be graveside services Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 11:00am at Greenlawn Cemetery officiated by Tammie Songer and VFW Auxiliary 614.
