Shirley "Loretta" Hill passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, after a battle with cancer. She was born May 31, 1943, in Quanah, Texas, to Lester and Ruby Dennington.
She married her "lovey," Starley "Dink" Hill, Jr., on August 21, 1959. Together they built and raised their family in Alaska, Oregon, and New Mexico.
Loretta loved barbeques. Most of all she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Donna Fritz. She is survived by her husband, sons, James Hill of Tulsa, Okla., William "Billy" Hill (Corryn) of Soldotna, Alaska, Tommy Hill (Susan) of Bloomfield; daughter, Starla Hales (Kerry) of Farmington; brother, Kenneth Dennington (Donna) of Aztec; sister, Wynelle Valdez of Farmington 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington with pastor Steve Carrington will officiate. Pallbearers are Billy Hill, Tommy Hill, Kerry Hales, Travis Hill, Tim Trujillo and Shaun Heth. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
Shirley's care is entrusted to the Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
