Shirley M. Arnold, 94, of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014. Shirley was born in Ignacio, Colo., to her parents William and Elizabeth Walters on July 9,1920. After living in Colorado, Florida and West Virginia, Shirley moved to Farmington in 1942. Shirley married Steve Arnold on Aug. 15, 1952, and moved to his farm west of Farmington. She lived there until her death.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Steve Arnold; a grandson Heath Arnold, a great-grandson Kyler Beaty and a great-granddaughter Alexis Arnold. She is survived by her sons, Fred Walters of Banning, Calif.; James Arnold of Burkburnett, Texas; and Richard Arnold (Pam) of Farmington; grandchildren, Heather (Brent Beaty) of Farmington, Ryan Arnold of Midland, Texas, Jackie (Keith) Guy of Denver,
Colo., and Freddi (Remi) Armenta of Las Vegas, Nev.; and six great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, at the First Baptist Church of Kirtland, 17 Road 6500. Shirley's ashes will buried in the Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery, Road 6575 in Kirtland, next to her husband.
