Sheryl Nicole Gallegos

June 3, 1978 — October 5, 2015

Sheryl Nicole Gallegos was called home to be with our heavenly Father on October 5, 2015. She was born June 3, 1978 in Farmington, NM and resided in Bloomfield. Sheryl is preceded in death by her great-grandmother Eufelia Madrid, grandparents Delfido and Helen Gallegos and Eloy E. Gomez, Niece Isabel and uncles Daniel Gallegos and Albert Gallegos. She is survived by her parents, Fidel and Irene Gallegos, Sisters Monica (Lance) Bickham and Laura (Russel) Hankhhouse, four nieces, two nephews and 1 great-nephew, Grandmother Stella Gomez and God-mother Beverly Seitzinger. Sheryl graduated from Bloomfield High School, received her Associates from San Juan College in Social Work and would have graduated in May 2016 with her Bachelors' degree. Sheryl loved and excelled in academics and made the Dean's list. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and received many awards during her academic career. Sheryl was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic community of Bloomfield where she assisted in teaching the 1st Communion class for five years then moved on to help teach the pre-confirmation classes. Sheryl loved spending time outdoors with her family camping and riding 4 Wheelers. She had a very special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews often spending time and gaming with them.

Sheryl was an amazing person with a big heart. The very bestest Auntie to all Littles, fiercely protective of her loved ones and one of the kindest, craziest, most brave person ever known. She will be missed more than she could ever know.

Cremation has taken place and a rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 10, immediately followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 307 N. Church Str. in Bloomfield with Father James Walker officiating, luncheon to follow. Burial will take place at a later date.

Honorary pallbearers are her nieces and nephews: Nichole Polanco, Kaily Hankhouse, Jordan Gallegos, Andrew Polanco, Olivia Hankhouse, Logan Bickham and Elijah Alcon.

Any donations or contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church CCD Program, Bloomfield, NM.

Sheryl's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St., (505) 325-8688.
