Sharon Hunt Thomas, 83, of Waterflow, passed from this life Thursday, July 23, 2015. She was born April 1, 1932, in Waterflow to John Andrew Hunt and Nellie Louise Walker.
Sharon enjoyed being with family and friends and doing family history, scrapbooking and reading. Before her vision failed, she enjoyed learning to paint. Sharon was a perfect example of love and service. She was a member of the Kirtland Fourth Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Herman Thomas; parents, John Andre Hunt and Nellie Louise Walker; and grandson, Aaron Lawrence Floyd.
She is survived by her sons, Verne (Carmen) Thomas, John (Carol) Thomas and Franklin Thomas; daughters, Carol Floyd, Jeanita Thomas and Mary Thomas; sisters, Barbara Winfree, Leola Butler and Donna James, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one unborn great-grandchild.
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2015, at Cope Memorial Chapel of Kirtland, 458 County Road 6100.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kirtland stake building on U.S. Highway 64. Bishop Bradley Ashcroft will be officiating.
Burial will follow at the Waterflow cemetery. There will be a family luncheon after the burial at the Latter-day Saints Kirtland stake building.
Pallbearers are Chad Thomas, Kevin Floyd, Aldean Jones, Charlie Sanborn, Juan Aguirre, Alec Sanborn, Owen Thomas and John Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the missionary fund for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
