Shannon D. Macaw-Jones, age 50, passed away peacefully after her long 4-year warrior battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at her home in Aztec, New Mexico. Shannon was born February 12, 1970 to Don and Arlene (Hollon) Macaw. She was a 1988 graduate from Mayfield High School and a Las Cruces native. Shannon married Chad E. Jones on March 17th and they celebrated their 19th anniversary this year. Shannon started her career with the USPS and finished as an early childhood education teacher. Shannon lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures, family gatherings, boating, racing, fishing, and camping. Shannon was known to be very charismatic and would help anyone who was in need. She was known to be so loving and full of life. Shannon’s laugh would brighten up any room and would be heard from miles away. Shannon is survived by her husband Chad of Aztec. Her Father and Mother Don and Arlene Macaw of Las Cruces, brother Terrell (Claudia) Macaw of Alamogordo. Her loving niece’s and nephew: Laykenn (Jason) Kennedy, Chelsie (John) Malloy, Shantel Macaw, Romalee Macaw, Kayla (Aaron) Sharpe, and John Macaw. Shannon is survived by 9 great niece’s and nephew’s: Tyler, Nathan, Kayden, Baylynn, Caleb, Xayvion, Karsynn, Elliot, and baby Kennedy. Shannon is also survived by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Carl Macaw, and both Paternal and Maternal grandparents. Family, friends, and others whose lives Shannon touched are invited to the Cancer Protest Memorial on June 27th, 2020, in celebration of her life.
