Shain Larry Mark

Shain L. Mark, 40 of Shiprock, NM passed away on September 17, 2020 at home. He was born on October 28, 1979 in Shiprock, NM to Deanna (Paul) DeVore and Larry Mark. His clan was Tachii’nii (Red Running into the Water) born for To’aheedliinii (The Water Flow Together). His maternal grandfather was Tl’zilani (Many Goat) and his paternal grandfather was Tl’aashchi’I (The Red Bottom People).

Shain was preceded in death by his father Larry Mark. He is survived by his children; sons Diego Charle Mark, Dylan Caden Mark, Kelan Cole Mark, daughter Satya Ava Mark, and wife, Charlotte Rae Mark. Mother, Deanna (Paul) DeVore, Siblings; brothers Broderick L. Mark, Lincoln “Shelby” Mark, and sister Sharlet Rae Mark.

Shain graduated from Carrington College in Albuquerque, NM for Medical Coding & Billing. He worked for IHS for over 10 years. He loved and cared dearly for everyone he knew, most of all our Grandma Hunt. As an affectionate father, he played like a kid, gave advice like a friend, he was a protector, a fighter and helper. He had such a big heart and great sense of humor; he had personal names for his children and always got a kick out of joking around with his loved ones. He carried special relationships with all who knew him. He enjoyed watching all types of movies, UFC & WWE, and listening to rap music. He was a great handy man and hard worker. He loved to travel and see new things, being in the great outdoors and camping was one of his favorites. He was an awesome chef, and always made delicious meals. He was Mr. Clean, always cleaning, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes having the home smell of Pine Sol or Clorox. His favorite teams were Albuquerque Dukes, San Diego Chargers & Padres, Oakland Raiders, Sacramento Kings, Chicago White Sox and San Antonio Spurs. He will be missed but not forgotten, he will remain forever in our hearts.

A memorial service viewing will be at 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Cope Memorial Chapel. There will be a graveside service at the Mark Family plot in Shiprock, NM at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Larry Jack officiating. A reception will follow the graveside service at the Hunt Family residence under “The Big Tree”.
