Sebastian Tyler Smith was born July 12, 2000 in Farmington and passed away on December 17, 2014. He was a freshman and honors student at Bloomfield High School. He held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do from Kim's Tae Kwon Do, volunteered regularly for the Red Cross of Farmington, was attending Catechism classes at St. Mary's in Farmington and had recently received a nomination for the 2015 National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists. Sebastian was an extremely giving and caring boy who was always looking for ways to help others be it befriending someone who needed it, helping a teacher with extra projects or lending his grandmother a hand building the deck.
Sebastian is deeply loved and will be missed by all those who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Jennifer Smith and Benjamin Smith (Marlayna); sisters Becky and Rachel Boucher, Willow, Kaylee, Delyalah and Viviannah Smith; grandparents Joe and Linda Boucher, Beth and John Cole, numerous aunts, uncles, friends and loved ones.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Reprographics Center to help with Rachel's medical and rehabilitation treatment or to the Red Cross.Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington with Deacon Jim Betts officiating. A reception will follow at Piñon Hills Community Church. Because of the delay in holding the memorial, we would like to ask that you help spread the word to any who would like to attend.
