Salvador Macias
Funeral services for Salvador "Oscar" Macias, 80, will be at 4 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at Coe Memorial in Gallup. The Reverend Grace Lueras will officiate.
Macias died April 13, 2017, in Gallup. He was born March 31, 1937, in Madrid.
Macias was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He owned Oscar Macias Plumbing and was a plumber in Gallup for more than 60 years. Macias was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 412. He was a self-taught cook and made the best and hottest chili.
Survivors include his sons Craig Macias, of Gallup, Wade Macias, of Gallup, and Dwayne Macias, of Albuquerque; daughter Terri Macias-Torres, of Albuquerque; brothers Megs Macias, Tony Macias, Johnny Macias, Pat Macias, Larry Macias and Dale Parrott; sisters Helen Parrott, Mercy Sieck, Francis Macias, Margaret Chitwood, Stella Garcia, Jeannie Baca and Betty Guillen; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Elena Macias and brothers Frank Macias, Joe Macias and Bobby Martinez.
Pallbearers will be Craig Macias, Wade Macias, Dwayne Macias, George Torres, Mario Garcia, Chris Zender, Michael Zender and Craig Macias Jr.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup, NM is entrusted with arrangements.
