Ruth Bunny, 82, of Blanco Canyon, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014, in Bloomfield. She was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Blanco Canyon, to Woody Harrison and Anna Antonio Curley. Ruth was born to the Bear Clan and born for the Mud Clan.
Ruth attended 4th grade at Ignacio school. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bunny Sr.; son James Bunny Jr.; parents; brother Wilson Harrison; and her sister Barbara Curley.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Ernest Bennie, Alvin Benny, David Benny, Jared Benny, Gilbert Benny and Jasper Benny; daughters, Hazel Largo, Emily Bennie Benally, Elaine Gomez, Ernestina Bennie and Roxanne Bennie; sisters, Paula Werito and Jolinda Curley; 20 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today, at Cope Memorial Chapel of Kirtland,
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, off U.S. Highway 64 in Blanco.
Burial will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery behind the church.
A reception will follow in the parish hall at the church.
Pallbearers are Michael Largo, Travis Jarod Largo, Anthony Benny, Jesse Cambridge, Shawton Benally, Sparky Bennie, and Erick Sandoval.
