Ruth Jane Tinker, 89, of Aztec, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, in Farmington. She was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Denoya, Okla., to Arthur and Athra Tabor.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Raymond King and Joe Tinker Jr. of Aztec; sons, Jerry, Ronald, Billy, Victor and Richard King; daughters, Nancy, Judy and Barbara Ann King; six siblings and one grandchild.
She is survived by her daughters, Lora (Wayne) McEwen and Janita Sawyer; 15 grandchildren, two of whom she raised, Chrissy Deal and Michelle Koonce; 35 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, at Bethel Baptist Church, 201 Heiland Road in Aztec, with pastor Bob Schlauger officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Isaiah Mendieta, Phelan Mendieta, Elisha Journey, Josiah Brooks, Liam Jardine and Jason Jardine.
Ruth's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave., 505-334-9332.
