Ruth Irene Tackitt, 92, of La Plata., New Mexico passed away on February 14, 2017 in Farmington, New Mexico. Ruth was born on June 18, 1924 in Max, North Dakota to David and Carrie Keller. Ruth was a high school graduate. She worked at San Juan Regional as a cook in the kitchen in the early 1960's. Ruth was a homemaker who spent alot of time doing volunteer work. She volunteered many years at the Ladies Auxiliary for San Juan Regional Hospital. Ruth opened up a weekly invitation to cook in her own home for the Priest's and Sisters of Sacred Heart Parish. She worked to recruit donations for the LaPlata Volunteer Fire Department in the late 1960's to early 1970's and was also a Elks "Doe" of Farmington for many years. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Allen Guy Tackitt, parents David and Carrie Keller, brothers Albert, Fred and Pete and sisters Martha, Rose, Lanora, Ada, Marie and Alvina. Ruth is survived by her sons Rene' Halphen and Tim Halphen, daughter Patsy Goncz, grandchildren Allen (Michelle) Pistole, Holly (Jason) Shelton, Wade (Jennifer) Halphen, Natalie Halphen, Karie (Randal) Dugan and Stephanie Halphen and 12 great- granchildren.A viewing for Ruth will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington, N.M. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic church followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. with celebrant Father Tim Farrell. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A reception will follow the mass at 11:30 at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. Pallbearers are Wade Halphen, Allen Pistole, Justin Shelton, Randal Dugan, Jason Shelton, Trevor Begay. Memorials and donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School, 404 Allen Avenue North, Farmington, N.M. 87401. Ruth's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington, New Mexico 404 w.
