Ruth (Eaton) Pete

Ruth E. Pete, 79, of Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at San Juan Care and Rehab in Farmington. She was born March 27, 1934, near Hwoshdoo'di. She was born into the K'aa Dine'e clan (Aaron clan) and born for the Hooghan Iani (Many Hogans clan). She resided in Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle. Ruth is survived by her husband of 59 wonderful years, Wilfred B. Pete; children, Calvin Pete, Victoria Pete, Melvin Pete, Oralita Pete, Irvin and Melissa Pete, Belvin and Lynda Pete; grandchildren Cyle Pete, Craig Pete and Cory Pete (Lori); great-grandchildren, Cayden Ruth and Caylee M. Pete; and brother and sisters, Bill Eaton, John "Wilson"(Ethylene) Eaton, Priscilla (Bobby) Tsosie and Lorraine (Geroge) Harrison. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Margaret Eaton; brothers Jimmie (Winnie) Eaton and Cecil Eaton; uncles, Buster, Natoni and Jack Francisco; and a sister-in-law, the Honorable Judge Linda Eaton. Ruth was an adored great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, aunt, sister, and Christian loving friend. Ruth loved weaving, raising her beloved sheep, making silver jewelry and briefly working for Fairchild Corp. The family would like ton thank countless relatives and friends for their support of our loving Mom. The kindness extended by the San Juan Manor staff in providing excellent care to Ruth will always be remembered. Viewing is from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20th at Brewer, Lee andLarkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St. in Farmington. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday October 21st, at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 618 West Arrington Street in Farmington with Pastor Tom White conducting. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main St. in Farmington. Reception is at McGee Park Multi-use Building. Ruth's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St., (505) 325-8688
