Mrs. Ruth Louella Sooter LePlatt passed away May 10, 2013 at her home in Farmington. She was 79 years old. She was born in Golden, Colo., March 9, 1934. She was adopted by Ted and Amanda Sooter at the age of three and resided in Monte Vista, Colo. She graduated from Monte Vista high school in 1952. She married Richard LePlatt, July 12, 1957 at the Hotchkiss, Colo. home of Richard's brother, Jerome LePlatt. They lived in Durango for the next six years and then moved to Green River, Wyo. for Richard's job with EI Paso Natural Gas. They lived in Green River for two years before moving to Kemmerer, Wyo. where they lived the next 30 years. Their only child, Pamela Sue LePlatt was born on April 11, 1968 in Rock Springs, Wyo. Ruth enjoyed the outdoors of Wyoming. Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks were her favorite places. She liked camping, hunting arrowheads, boating on a nearby lake, reading and ceramics. She was preceded in death by her mother, Amanda Sooter; father, Ted F. Sooter and her brother, Ted Sooter. Ruth is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Richard LePlatt of Farmington; daughter, Pam Voecks; son-in-law, Dan Voecks and granddaughter, Isabelle Voecks of Farmington and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
