Ruby Viola Armstrong, 83, of Aztec, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 6:27 p.m. She was born August 10, 1930, at Harper, Kansas to Harry T. Stewart and Ruth Esther Darling.
Ruby was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Aztec. She was a volunteer at the Good Samaritan. She loved to help the residents with Bingo and other activities. She will greatly missed by all who loved her.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tillman Arthur Armstrong; sons, Timmy and Donald Joe; sister, Mary Lou Thorton; and grandson, Nicky.
She is survived by her son, Roger (Sharlene) Armstrong; daughters, Ruth Garrison, Peggy Gutierrez, Docia (David) Archuleta, Dorothy Armstrong and adoptive daughter, Connie Giles; sister, Darling Carpenter; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, at First Baptist Church, 700 Navajo St. Aztec, officiated by Rick McCuller and Kevin Parker.
Reception will follow the service.
