Rosie passed away at the age of 78, at Mercy Medical Center in Durango, CO, on January 17, 2022, (not COVID related).  Rosie “Rosa” Sanchez, was born on January 8, 1944, in Trujillo, NM.  She was the daughter of Manuel & Elena Sanchez.  In 1949, her parents moved to Bloomfield for her father’s employment.  In 1959, she met the love of her life, Paul Archibeque.  They were married the next year on July 23.  They married young, but she didn’t regret a thing.  They spent the next sixty-one years floating through life’s ups and downs together.  Together they had five wonderful children, Denise, Sonny, Norman, Diane and Dwayne.  Then, eleven grandchildren followed.  Next, nineteen great grandchildren came and filled the house with even more joy.  Her first great great grandchild, a little girl will arrive in June.  Her life’s joy was being a wife, mom and Nana.  Rosie was a lifelong member of Saint Mary’s Parish in Bloomfield, NM.  When she was younger, she served on the Parish Council.  During her many years at St. Mary’s, she and some of her dearest friends belonged to the Ladies Guild.  They were the heart and soul of the Parish.  Rosie is survived by the love of her life and husband of sixty-one years, Paul Ray Archibeque, their children Paul “Sonny” (Diane), Norman, Dwayne (Stacy) Archibeque, Denise (Favian) Serrano, and Diane (Wilfred) Martinez.  Her ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter (on the way).  Rosie is also survived by her siblings, brothers, Henry (Connie), Dominico “Alfonso” and Benny (Eileen) Sanchez, and her sisters, Frances Salazar, Angie Atencio, and Aurora (Lloyd) Abeyta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elena & Manuel Sanchez, her in-laws Margarita & Eutimio Archibeque, one brother; Augustine Sanchez, and her grandson, Anthony Martinez.  A rosary will be recited on Friday, January 28 at 6:00 pm, a funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 29, at 11:00 am, location for rosary and Funeral Mass is at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomfield, NM.  Funeral Mass will be officiated by Father Jim Walker, internment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bloomfield, NM.  Pallbearers are Michael Serrano, Gabriel, Luke and Jeremy Archibeque, Jerome Martinez and Izayah Serrano.  Honorary pallbearers are Jose Gonzales, Raymond Sanchez, +Anthony Martinez, Damian Martinez and Raymond Valencia.  Rosie’s care has been entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington, NM.
