Rose Marie Mason, 84, of Farmington, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017. She was born March 24, 1932, in Towaoc, Colorado to Art and Tena Ulibarri. Rose, or Jo Jo as we fondly called her was the mother of three children, Gregory, Edward (Skeet) and Pamela.
Rose grew up in Shiprock, NM and graduated from Kirtland High School. She was a substitute teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School and the Farmington School District. She also worked for the City of Farmington, Attorney, W. James Knowles, and Merrion Oil and Gas. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and enjoyed attending the annual Valentine Ball. She also enjoyed gardening, decorating, movies, dancing and going to the flea market. She loved music and played the violin and piano. She loved her Schipperke dogs and spoiled them rotten. She loved spending time with her family and friends and loved to entertain.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Tena Ulibarri and sister, Jerrie Ann Tillerson. She is survived by Calvan Mason, loving father of her three children; brothers, Arthur (Shirley), Ronald (Rose); and children, Greg, Edward (Diane), and Pamela (Marty); grandchildren, Mark and Marie Mason, and Tony and Sabrina Laurich.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688. The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 N. Allen in Farmington. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
