Ronald "Ron" Sandoval, 63, of Farmington, passed from this life Thursday, July 13, 2017, in Fruitland. He was born July 23, 1953, in Shiprock to Franklin Sandoval and Victoria Chase.
Ron graduated from Navajo Mission in 1972. He worked at BHP, currently North American Coal Corporation Bisti Fuels, for 45 years on July 21, 2017, he was set to retire. His hobbies included going to any and all sporting events, fishing, going to the movies, walking and spending time with his grandkids. Every weekend, he was with his grandson, Rie; they were inseparable.
Ron was preceded in death by his son, Rylan Sandoval; father, Franklin Sandoval; and brothers, Franklin Sandoval Jr. and Maurice Sandoval. He survived by his son, Ronson Sandoval; daughter, Raechante Sandoval; mother, Victoria Sandoval; brothers, Daniel Sandoval, Willard Sandoval and Robert Sandoval; sister, Katherine Sandoval; and grandchildren, Rie Sandoval, Rylan Sandoval and Roselyn Dan.
A visitation for Ron will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19 at Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St. in Farmington. A funeral service for Ron will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 20 at Oasis Ministries, 1601 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made under the account of Raechante Sandoval to the Four Corners Federal Credit Union, 16 Road 6500 in Kirtland, 505-598-6623.
Ron's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington, 404 W. Arrington St., 505-327-5142.
