Ronald (Rojo) Gilbert Emrich, 78, of Farmington, NM, passed away on September 8, 2014 at University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora, Colorado, due to complications from an accident in 2010. Ron was born in Laramie, WY to Ellen Wrench and Earl Emrich on February 12, 1936. He went to high school at University of Wyoming High School and graduated in 1955. He joined the army and was honorably discharged in 1957. Ron returned to Laramie, where he met his beloved wife, Joan D. Watters, of 56 years. He began working for Republic Supply in Casper, WY. He was transferred to Farmington, NM in 1960 where he continued his oil and gas career for the next 30 years at El Paso Natural Gas, which later became Burlington Resources. He was involved in his church, Trinity Lutheran. Some of his hobbies included volunteering his time as a member of the "chain gang" for Farmington High School for 45 years, building his cabin in Vallecito, Colorado, but most of all he was adored, loved, and known by his five grandchildren as "Pa Pa". Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Ellen Wrench and Earl Emrich, sister, Elaine Hackett of San Antonio, TX, and his grandchildren, Bradley and Brent Emrich of Farmington. Ron is survived by his spouse, Joan D. Watters of Farmington, son, Clark Emrich, and wife Phyllis of Littleton, CO, daughter, Kelly Wright of Farmington, son, Scott Emrich and wife Teresa, of Farmington, five grandchildren, Keeley Wright, Nicole Emrich and Craig Emrich of Farmington, John Emrich and Kasey Emrich of Littleton, brother, Marvin Emrich of Corpus Christi, TX and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1221 E. 20th St., on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Davis of Trinity Lutheran officiating. Interment is private and will have taken place prior to the memorial service at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are Keeley Wright, John Emrich, Nicole Emrich, Kasey Emrich, Craig Emrich, Luwil Aligarbes, David Pike, and Gary Rollstin. Honorary pallbearers are Famington High School Chain Gang, Jerry Peterson, Glen Issacson, Jack Watters, Mark Watters, Robert "Bruno" Horvath, Jim Loleit. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran, 1221 E. 20th St., Farmington, NM 87401 or to the Ron Emrich Memorial Football Scholarship Fund, Farmington NM.
