Robert Clinton "Scotty" Scott, 87, of Fruitland, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at his home. Clinton was born Jan. 7, 1928, in Pomerene, Ariz., the son of Joseph Eugene Scott and Mary Ellen (Fenn) Scott.
Robert mostly used his middle name, Clinton, but was also known as "Scotty" and "Froggy." Clinton was called to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Clinton was a resourceful, loyal man that always had a joke, story or song. He was a lifelong and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served on the high council. Clinton served in the U.S. Army, operated the Texaco station in Kirtland and owned Scotty's Auto Repair in Fruitland. He worked as a millwright and was a longtime respected Boy Scout leader. Clinton loved music and taught his kids to love music and also taught many of his kids to work on cars. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
Clinton is survived by his wife Ruby Eloise Scott of 59 years; sons, Neal (Kathy) Scott, Norman (Printha) Scott; daughters, Sandra (Scott) Jackson, Sherri Durham, Beverly (Daniel) Boston and Rhonda (Roy Valdez) McDaniel; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and many dear friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington.
Services for Clinton will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kirtland Stake center, 10 Road 6523, in Kirtland with Bishop Colin Hatch conducting. Interment will follow in the Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery, 59 Road 6575 in Kirtland.
