Robert Marcos Lujan, 72, of Farmington, passed away on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, in Farmington. He was born Jan. 20, 1940, in Cleveland, to Felix and Preddy Medina Lujan.
Robert and Margaret met in Socorro, while he was attending New Mexico Tech, in 1958 and married the love of his life in 1960. The moved to Farmington in 1961 where they started their family with their first born son and later had two daughters.
Robert served in the National Guard until 1965.
He worked in the grocery business for many years and in 1972 opened M and R Meat where he serviced San Juan County for over 20 years. He later went in to the construction business with his father, Alvin Kemper until 1994.
After his father retired, Robert took over and started RML Construction until he retired in 2002.
He enjoyed hunting with his father, brothers and good friends in Colo. and spent many days fishing on the San Juan River.
Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Desirae, Kailey, Lexie, Tyler, Jacob and great-grandson, Damien.
Robert was preceded in death by a son, Robbie Marcos Lujan; his parents and Alvin Kemper and his brothers, Frankie Lujan and Arthur Joe Kemper.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lujan; daughters, Michele (Kevin) Lucero and Melissa (Troy) Ramsted; brothers, Felix (Sydney) Lujan and Patrick (Debbie) Kemper; sister, Francis (Doug) Roberts and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family great appreciates the service and care from Dr. McFarling, Northwest New Mexico Hospice, Renee Renick and Vida Guffey.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 16, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington.
A mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Pat Wedeking celebrant.
Inurnment will follow at 2 p.m. in Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Lucero, Troy Ramsted, Justin Roberts, Patrick Kemper and Levi Schoenfield.
