Robert S. Crosby - resident of Farmington, NM passed away on March 21st following a brief illness at Mercy Hospital in Durango with his loving daughter at his side. He was born on Sept. 9, 1926 in Dover, NH son of Robert S. and Beatrice Costello Crosby.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis. He is survived by his loving daughters: Nancy C. Nelson of Farmington NM, Susan Hale Crosby and granddaughter Victoria Hale Stearns of Veazie, ME.
Robert graduated from Dover High School. He served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1957 and eventually took over his father's dairy farm, moving to Gilmanton, NH. He served as a selectman for the town of Gilmanton, NH from 1972 - 1975. Retiring from dairy farming, Robert joined the Laborers' International Union of No. America Local 668 where he worked several construction projects throughout New Hampshire. Robert and his wife Phyllis retired to Farmington, NM from Gilmanton in 2001.
He was a hunter, a fly fisherman, a devoted husband and father. One of his favorite pastimes was building and carpentry as well as growing roses and other forms of gardening.
A private interment service will be held at a later date.
