Rita Marie Rozell, 84, of Farmington, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, in Farmington. She was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Seven Rivers to Dewey Hardesty and Rebecca Jane (Collins) Hardesty. Marie worked for Guardian Title Company for 29 years. After retiring in 2002, she began volunteering for Grace Baptist Academy. She taught Sunday school for more than 25 years, as well as Awana Clubs for 23 years.
She loved children and devoted her time to making sure every child felt special. She lived every day trying to serve God.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Waco Williams; son, Jimmy Glen Williams; daughter, Bonnie Sue Williams; brothers, Carol Hardesty and Richard Hardesty; and sisters, Ella Hardesty, Nieva Hardesty and Martha Hardesty. She is survived by her grandchildren, Holly Leslie, Robert House, Shane Williams and Jimmy Williams; 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Jan. 12 at Grace Baptist Church, and pastor Dan Mauldin officiated. Rita's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St. in Farmington, 505-327-5142.
