Ricky Billie Long, 51, of Fruitland, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, in Farmington. He was born Aug. 22, 1965, in Otis, to Richard Charley Long and Jean Rose Piohe. He is Dzilthlanii (Near the Mountain Clan) born for Naneeshteezhii (Zuni Clan).
Ricky attended Kirtland Central High School and Farmington High School. He was also a firefighter for the Hot Shots in Los Lunas.
Ricky is preceded in death by his parents; Richard Long and Jean Rose Pioche, stepfather; Alfred Pioche, sister; Rita Long, and grandparents; Joe Billie and Lillie Billie. He is survived by the mother of his children, Lucille Allen; daughters, Kendra Long, Kenosha R. Long, Rashanna R. Allen and Vanya Willie; sisters, Valesita Chase, Racheal Long Hot, Renita Long, Alfreida Jean Pioche and Alena Pioche; grandchildren, Avian O. Johnson, Leah K. Atcitty, Kolby A. Atcitty, Kaylub K. Atcitty, Brady Atcitty, Juwan J. Yanito, Kyler Yazzie, Peyton Ashihi, Arianna Ashihi, Kloey R. Halona and Rylan D. Sandoval II.
Pallbearers are Winston Sandoval, Anderson Thomas, Remus Jackson, Ryan Jackson, Matthew Long and Elson Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are Avian O. Johnson, Juwan J. Yanito, Paul I. Atcitty and Gilbert Benally.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4 at the Word of Life Christian Center, 1500 N Fairview Ave. in Farmington officiated by Pastor George Ford. Burial will follow at the Rose Garden Cemetery in Upper Fruitland.
