Richard Gary Nelson, 59, of Farmington, New Mexico passed away on October 3, 2016. Richard was born on November 24, 1956 in Rangely, Colorado to Eldon and Lenora Nelson. He grew up in Dolores Colorado on the family farm. He graduated from Dolores High School in 1975. While in school he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. He also enjoyed working on the family farm. He and Bobbi Nelson moved to the Four Corners area in 1980, where they raised their 3 children. His favorite hobbies were being outdoors, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed working on radios and electronics at Riley Industrial Services. He was loved and will be missed by all those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Floyd and Ethel Barrick. Richard is survived by his wife Bobbi Nelson, Sons Kevin (Janelle) Nelson, Kyle (Danielle) Nelson, daughter Keri (Mitchell Selman) Nelson, parents Eldon and Lenora Nelson, brothers Steve Nelson, Roger Nelson, Phillip Nelson, sister Debbie Rogers and his grandchildren Makenzie Nelson, Shaun Nelson, Nikolas Nelson, Kinlee Nelson, Rylan Nelson, Isabella Nelson, Addison Nelson. He was known to his grandkids as hot roddin Papa Cremation has taken place. Memorial services for Richard are Friday, October 14, at 5:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Aztec, 700 Navajo St. in Aztec. Richards care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington, NM, 404 W. Arrington St., (505) 327-5142
