Richard D. Ellis, 87, of Farmington passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. Richard was born October 31, 1926 in Montrose, South Dakota the son of Herbert Finn Ellis and Anna (Hardars) Ellis. He served in the U.S. Navy from August 9, 1944 until October 4, 1947. He is survived by his three daughters, Debbie McCauley (Don), Linda Ulibarri and Cindy Choquette (James), six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30th at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, 414 N. Allen Ave. in Farmington with Father Tim Farrell as celebrant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 1606 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington where full military honors will be provided by VFW Post #2182 of Farmington. Pallbearers are his grandsons and great-grandsons. Richard is in the care of Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St., (505) 325-8688.
