Reverend Taube D. Jenkins passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2020 in Grants, New Mexico. She was 73 years of age. Taube was born on August 29, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Taube was “born a Jew and died a Jew believing in Jesus”. She spent her life in the service of God and her community. She was a devoted Minister and Bishop with Mt. Taylor Community Fellowship Church. She was a former paramedic in Prince William County, Virginia and Prince George County, Maryland. She assisted in the consecrations of Bishops in Nigeria and Mexico. Taube spent fifteen years as the head Chaplin for Cibola General Hospital. She was loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Jenkins. Her children: Jason and Stacey Janet, Shana Kerey, Arlen and Megan Janet, Caasi Janet, Tracy and Bill Papadopoulos, and Amy and Scott Vejcik. Her grandchildren: Britton, Sophie, Alexi, Jadeh and David Durham, Alaina, Madelyn, Kaela, Christian, Dejah, Milti, Afroditi, Aranxia, Kataryna, Maximillian, Isabella, Dominic, Finian, and Michael Collins. Her great-grandson: Noah. Her best friend Sandy Haddox. Her sister Janna Wallen and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lois Ann Heymann Markowitz, and Herman Markowitz and brother; Eric Lee Markowitz.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday September 22, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Temple Mount Sinai Cemetery in El Paso, Texas with Rabbi Ben Zeidman officiating. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday October 4, 2020 at 4:00 PM at the Grants Rodeo Cow Palace to celebrate her life.
Pallbearers include: Patrick Carroll, Stan Clark, Arlen Janet, Jason Janet, Alexi Kerey, Dejah Kerey, Jonathan Markowitz and Ernest Martinez.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Col. Richard M. Heymann.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name, to the Billy Graham Evangelist Association ( www.billygraham.org ) or Jews for Jesus ( www.jewsforjesus.org )
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
