Rena Louise Teller

March 2, 1938 — June 10, 2017

Rena Louise Teller, 79, a resident of Newcomb, NM and most recently a resident of Apache Junction, Ariz., passed away peacefully Saturday, June 10, 2017, at The Villas in Mesa, Ariz. She was born March 2, 1938, in Rehoboth, N.M. the daughter of Kent and Hilda Teller. Rena received her Master's in Education from University of New Mexico. She worked for 35 plus years for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and later retired. She also retired from the FACE program in 2013 when she was diagnosed with cancer. Rena will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Rena was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Atcitty-Begaye; parents, Kent and Hilda Teller; brother, Vernon Teller; and her grandparents, John and Elizabeth Belone. She leaves behind her sons, Christopher and Earlphia Teller; daughters, Donnell Hnat and husband Rick; Tracey Phoenix-Lyons and husband John and Harriet Talk; stepchildren, Gilbert Atcitty, Nadine Norberto, Leonard Atcitty and Hughetta Atcitty-Don; sisters, Rosh Fredericks and husband Lloyd, Jeri LeBeaux and husband Dugan and Claudine Teller; grandchildren, Chandra Ahrens, Kai English, Kaleb English, Noelle Sells-Teller and Kody Dan; great-grandchildren, Malia Munsinger and Naeomi Ahrens and many dear friends. Cremation has taken place and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, July 7 at the Sacred Heart Parish, 414 N. Allen Ave. in Farmington with Father Tim Farrell reciting. A mass of Christian Burial for Rena will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8 at the Sacred Heart Parish with Father Tim Farrell as celebrant. Rena will then be taken to Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington and buried with her husband Hugh. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Teller, Kai English, Kaleb English, Kody Dan, John Lyons and Rick Hnat.
