Rena passed away at the Good Sam Nursing Home in Aztec. She was born in Pauls Valley, Okla. The family moved to the Coolidge, Ariz., area around 1940 where she attended school until marrying Amos Huskey. They were blessed with three sons: Isaac Huskey, Jerry Huskey and Douglas Huskey.
She married Darrell D. Brown in 1976 and continued to work as a bookkeeper until retiring.
She is survived by son Isaac (Westlena) Huskey of Hobbs, Jerry Huskey of Farmington; daughter-in-law Becky Huskey of Farmington; three sisters Melvina (L.D.) Smith of Clear Lake, Calif., Betty Blakeman of Elko, Nev., Beckey (Darrell) Tierney of Coolidge; and one brother Garland (Barbara) Turley of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Westley (Mary) Huskey of Roswell, Michelle Huskey (working in Russia), Angela (Chris) Cowles of Albuquerque, Robert Huskey of Hobbs; and eight great-grandchildren. Darrell's daughters, Kathy and Sherry loved her very much. Rena thanked Darrell many times for giving her daughters to love.
Rena enjoyed and participated in many things. First came family getting them together whenever possible. She was very active in the good Sam RV Club serving in many positions of the local Three Rivers Sams and as Treasurer of the State Good Sam. She worked with the Bloomfield Senior Center ad helped deliver meals on Wheels at the Farmington Senior Center. She liked camping, fishing, dancing and traveling.
She brought her sons up with a good Christian background in the First Baptist church in Farmington. She had a deep faith through her mature years until the end.
Rena will be missed so very, very much by Darrell and many others.
There will be a memorial and reception at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at the San Juan Country Club, 5775 Country Club Drive, Farmington and the reception will be at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided at the Reception, please RSVP if attending the lunch. Please call Jerry Huskey 505-320-4464.
