REEDY R. HALL
October 30, 1934-March 20, 2015

Reedy R. Hall passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on March 20, 2015 at home in Aztec, New Mexico surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 30, 1934 in Vertrees, Hardin County, Kentucky, but was raised in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He attended The University of Kentucky in Lexington, and then taught school in Rineyville where he had attended school. Reedy began playing the piano at the age of 5. He was an incredible musician and entertainer. Reedy was one of the founders of a band called the Kentucky Rangers, and played throughout Kentucky and Tennessee. He also worked as a disc jockey.

In 1962, he moved to Montana to play music at Glacier Park. He fell in love with Montana and eventually moved to Kalispell and played music at the Montana Hotel, and worked as a disc jockey hosting a country music show. There, Reedy met and fell in love with his beloved wife, Joan E. (Joanie) Durham Hall, and they married September 12, 1964 at the LDS church in Kalispell, Montana. They were later sealed for all time and eternity in the Provo, Utah LDS temple.

Reedy and Joanie played music together beginning in 1963. Reedy played piano and Joanie played drums. They had a band, Reedy Hall and the Hallmarks, and played music in Missoula, Montana while Reedy was working on his masters degree. During that time, he also worked as a disc jockey. Reedy received his M.S. in business education and math from The University of Montana in 1968. He loved teaching, but his real love was music and entertaining. Reedy and Joanie played music throughout western Montana and the western United States, including Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe and Carson City, Nevada. They also played throughout Canada, including the Calgary Stampede. For many years, Reedy and Joanie played music in Seeley Lake, Montana during the summers, which was Reedy's favorite place.

In 1978, Reedy and Joanie moved to New Mexico and bought The Country Palace nightclub in Flora Vista, where they played music and entertained for many years. Reedy had numerous contacts and friends in Nashville, and booked in many big country music artists. Merle Haggard, George Jones, Vince Gill, the Bellamy Brothers, Asleep at the Wheel, and many other country music legends played at the Country Palace. Reedy also brought country music artists Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, George Strait and many others in to play at the San Juan County Fairgrounds.
In 2007, Reedy and Joanie sold the Country Palace. They were able to travel throughout the United States sharing precious time together until July 2014, when Reedy became seriously ill.

In addition to being a musician and entertainer, Reedy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He shared many wonderful summer days boating with his family and friends in Montana and New Mexico, and traveled to Kentucky to visit his family and friends there every summer. Reedy loved and cared for many people throughout his life, including his dear sister, his nieces and nephews, his friends, his children's friends, and those who worked for him over the years. He was also a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Reedy is survived by his beloved wife, Joan E. Durham Hall; his son Michael R. Hall and wife, Anita, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and sons Drew, Sean, and Logan; son David R. Hall and his wife, Kelli Mullin Hall, of Winthrop, Maine; son Daniel C.
