Randall Randy W. Saline, 1948 - 2021
Randy was born May 18, 1948 in Farmington, NM to Garnet and Margie Saline. He passed away August 22, 2021.
He graduated from Aztec, NM High School in 1966. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in England. After his mission he attended barber school. And then enlisted to serve in the U.S. Navy stationed at Midway Island with home base at San Diego, CA. He left his blue car a Chevy Biscayne to his brother Wayne, which he named the heart attack.
He barbered with his brothers Dan and Wayne Saline in Bountiful, Utah at their barber shop Studio 21/26. Later he went to work for Johnny Mathis, performer and singer, as his hair stylist and traveled with him throughout the world on tours.
After his career with Mathis, he continued to barber in Utah. After barbering he lived in California. Later he returned to Aztec, NM to care for his father and lived on their family land.
Randy had many adventures with his brothers, especially his brother Wayne, but there are too many to mention (and some should not be mentioned and censored). LOL. Randy and Wayne were best friends who stayed up all night and would solve the world problems. They had a special relationship and were close friends, as well as brothers.
He lived with his brother Dan and his family for a time and loved their children, as his own.
Randy was a fun, kind, caring person. He loved animals and always had a dog. He loved his companion dog, Edwina, who was with him 'til the end.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Jolene Saline, brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Debbie Saline, sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Dave Ponder, 5 nephews and 6 nieces and his close friend and care-giver, Teresa Ashcroft.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a niece.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 505 North Oliver Drive, Aztec, NM
