Ralph Dewayne Bird

Mr. Ralph DeWayne Bird, 83, was born Jan. 14, 1931, in Electra, Texas, to Newt Earnest and Wilmoth Carnohan Bird. He passed away June 16, in Farmington, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Althea Greer, also of Farmington. He is survived by his wife, Coye; his children, Vicki (Mark Ulibarri), Michael, and Mark; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ralph was a true Southern gentleman. He was a kind, generous, gentle and loyal man who lived to bless the lives of his children and grand-children. Ralph attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. He married the love of his life on Aug. 2, 1953, in Hobbs. Ralph was in the car business for many years and was co-owner of Hi Country Chevrolet. He was on the Board of Directors for Citizen's Bank and was a member of the San Juan College Foundation Board. Ralph was a true patriot who loved his country, his family, his garden, his books, and his dog. A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 20, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 211 W. 20th St. in Farmington. He will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery. Ralph's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688
