Priscilla B. Padilla, 85, of Aztec, N.M., entered into the gates of heaven Friday, March 3, in Aztec, N.M. at 3 p.m., surrounded by loved ones. She was born Oct. 17, 1931, in Rosa, N.M. to Juan and Eloisa Padia. She was a faithful Catholic and prayed for countless people every day.Priscilla grew up in Aztec, N.M. and graduated from Aztec High School in 1949. She was a bookkeeper for many years at Jesco Corp., Fogle Chevrolet, Citizens Bank and First National Bank. Priscilla and her husband Andy enjoyed cruises, traveling, attending horse races, car races and baseball games. Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Eloisa Padia; husband, Andy Padilla; daughters, Beverly Padia and Priscilla K. Padilla; sister, Emma Chavez; seven siblings at birth; grandson, Christopher M. Padilla; and great-grandson Xavier Padilla. She is survived by sons, Michael A. Padilla and Mike Padilla Sr. (Sherry); daughters, JoAnn Padilla-Schmaltz (Eric Schlotthauer), Michelle Padilla, Aimee (Ian) Saunders, Kathleen (Rock) Roop, and Lynda Padilla. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. A public and family viewing will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 9 at the Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 424 N. Mesa Verde Ave. in Aztec, N.M. She will then be laid to rest at the Aztec Cemetery, 700 Chamisa Ave. in Aztec, N.M. The family wishes to thank Horizon Home Health staff for their gentle care, especially Traci and Michelle; Dr. Margaret Cassidy and staff; and the SJRMC staff.
